Oppertunity to Earn some Cash to Code a Web Survey
Hi there,
Dave Kilmartin for the DIT Careers office is looking for one of our students to do a small bit of work on coding up a web survey. This is a once off task with a payment of about 800 euro. In addition to the money, this would be a nice thing to have on the CV as a project.
The survey would be a bit more complex than can be handled by Survey Monkey so a HTML5 form based survey would be best. I can provide a bit of guidence on this.
If you are interested in this drop me an email. This would have to be done in the next month or so.

Programming for Big Data - 1st Lecture details
Hi,
Our first lecture for Programming for Big Data will commence tomorrow at 18:30 in KA-G-028. We will move to a lab after we have covered the notes.
For the lab it would be beneficial if you could bring your own laptop.
In order to complete the labs, we will be using Oracle VirtualBox https://www.virtualbox.org/ and using an Ubuntu virtual disk image (8GB) downloadable from here.
Also, you will need to download this zip file for lab notes and data.
