Fee Implications of Exemptions and Deferrals
In response to some queries here is clarification with regard to the fee
implications of deferrals and exemptions for part-time students:
We strongly recommend that students take the option to pay only half fees at the beginning of the first semester to allow flexibility in case of a change of mind at the beginning of the following semester.
- Exemptions: Students that receive an exemption for a module must pay a fee for that module.
- Deferrals: Students that defer a module that they have registered for and paid for are not entitled to a fee refund.
We strongly recommend that students take the option to pay only half fees at the beginning of the first semester to allow flexibility in case of a change of mind at the beginning of the following semester.

Part-time Induction & Fee Advice
Thanks to everyone who came along to the part-time induction session on Saturday, and once again welcome to DIT.
On Saturday most people confirmed modules for semester 2 or changed module choices from the default set, and so will receive an updated fee amount from DIT registrations in the coming weeks. Based on this new amount you will be given the option to pay half now and half at the beginning of semester 2 (approximately the end of February). We strongly recommend that you take this option.
