Dublin City Public Libraries’ Career Direction and Development Programme, now in its third year, is a key Dublin City Council employment support initiative, designed as a response to the vastly changed Irish employment and careers landscape. Through a range of events, including lectures, workshops, information stands, helpdesks, displays and user education programmes, it aims to provide concentrated support to the city’s residents, workers and visitors in sourcing employment opportunities, developing job-hunting skills, and adapting to career changes in the current dynamic environment.

Smart Accessible Mobile Challenge 2012

The Vodafone Foundation Smart Accessibility Awards 2012 are hosting a €200k prize fund competition. It is calling on developers across Europe to design smartphone applications and services which consider the needs older people and people with disabilities.

In support of the competition, Vodafone, Mobile Monday, in conjunction with NDRC Inventorium have partnered with the NCBI Centre for Inclusive Technology and the Irish Internet Association (IIA) to run a two-day workshop to stimulate the generation of smartphone app ideas to submit to the competition for a share of €200k worth of prize money.

The two-day workshop will explore the challenges, problems and commercial opportunities that exist for developers and entrepreneurs when building smartphone applications that consider the needs of this significant demographic.

    -         2 soft-bound dissertations
          -         The declaration page of each soft-bound dissertation must be signed
    -         A CD with all supporting material (data sets, surveys, electronic copy of dissertation, etc)
    -         Email the electronic copy of your dissertation in PDF format to me (brendan.tierney@dit.ie)

    No extensions are possible to the submission date and time.
