Module selections and times for Semester 2

Please select the link below that is appropriate to your pathway which will allow you to confirm your module selections for Semester 2. Each form includes the timing of each module appropriate to your pathway. We have taken on board the issues you raised in Semester 1 and have tried to reduce class sizes and offer daytime delivery of popular modules for those of you available during the day. This has resulted in changes to the delivery of some modules. As you will appreciate there are difficulties that mean we are restricted in the days/evenings on which modules are offered. Unfortunately at this stage no changes in scheduling of days/evenings can be accommodated unless you identify a clash which affects the entire class.

For those of you who wish to change from your earlier selections or those who have not indicated any module choices already, please be aware that your changes may not be able to be accommodated as the classes and timetables have been confirmed based on numbers from the original choices. We will try to accommodate as many changes as the class sizes will allow.

Any queries should be emailed to cspg@dit.ie. Any common queries will be answered on this blog so the response will be available to all students that are affected.

Please complete the forms below by 17.00 Wednesday so that we can inform registrations of any changes in advance of the 31st January payment deadline.

For students proceeding to dissertation in Semester 2 2011/2012

Please note: This post is for students who are awaiting results of progression this semester. If you have previously passed the required stage and are intending to proceed to dissertation you can ignore this email.

You will be receiving notice that you must pay for Semester 2 modules by Jan 31st.
However progression to dissertation is conditional on passing the required core module
set plus approval of the dissertation proposal.
In order to ensure that you do not incur an unnecessary fee the dissertation module
will not be added to your semester 2 payment until you have met the progression
requirements.

You can pay for the remainder of your semester 2 fees in advance of Jan 31st and will
be notified when to pay for the dissertation

If you have indicated that you no longer intend to proceed to dissertation this will be
taken into account also.

Update: If you have already paid for the dissertation you should not be affected by this situation.

Updated system architecture slides

I have received some emails about the slide sets on my web-page. In particular, the set titled "Example of a component based architecture" was updated during Christmas and was missing some slides. This has been corrected. Note that the slides covered in class and on the web-site during the semester are the correct set - and should match those now available.

Check here for the latest set:
